I am finally done with It Started With a Kiss. 20 episodes of an hour each, I managed to finish it in, roughly, 2 weekends. So, around 3 1/2 days. hehe.
All I can say, I guess, this by far is the best Taiwanese series or even the best above all else that I have seen! It took me into different levels of emotions. I am literally crying one second and then laugh the next or cursing some characters for butting in the scene. Really, really, really. I really like this series. Hmm...If I have a list of favorite Asian series, ISWAK got to be at the top followed very closely by My Girl. They have almost the same ingredient kasi. They make you cry whether because of crying or laughing. And both ISWAK and My Girl made me cry a river (or even two). But, I like ISWAK better. It made me laugh so hard that I was practically rolling on my chair and my Mom would ask me why I was laughing so hard (which My Girl failed to do.lol) and cry every now and then as if I was the one being hurt and pained (while My Girl only made me cry when it was nearing its end) and surprisingly, I like the feeling of crying. Weird. What else? Unpredictable ending (er..in the sense that how do the lead characters end up together. Because, deep down, you know they would somehow end up together naman.hehe)
And what else is better in ISWAK? Of course, as the title suggests, THE KISSES! hehe. No, they are hot kisses ok? They are actually cute scenes. The types that would make you say, "aww.." because the scenes were oh-so-cute or "Oh my god!" because of shock. Basta. There were 6 kissing scenes (and I assure you, all were so wholesome!unlike jap series.hehe) and according to the director, there were supposed to be only 4 kisses in the entire script. Hihi. You get the idea. All the kissing scenes, as I see it, were strategically thought of. That is why every kiss is very much memorable. :) This series made me say at least a dozen of "Ang cute-cute" lines! Because they are really so cute!
I liked this series so much that it made me so sad that I am already done with it. I even watched for the special episode and it was so funny even if the actors are just being themselves. And gosh, the freak that I am, I even cried when they were all saying thanks and goodbye (for now) to the fans. I can't help but be sad. I am becoming so softy nowadays.
I would be waiting for its sequel. Joe Cheng, the lead guy actor in ISWAK, already agreed to be in it. I hope Ariel Lin, the lead girl character, will also agree to be in the sequel. They are so funny together. As for now, I am fearing that there won't be any series that would surpass or even be equal with ISWAK. many would entertain me of course but not as much as ISWAK did. Hay. I have never felt like this towards something so far from reality. bummer.
